    Hi,

If memory serves, I think I read somewhere that Japan is about to embark on 1Gb broadband. Is this correct? Where will this end, what speed is actually needed for tv viewing via broadband and say, using something like MSN via webcam to cousins in Australia?

And we have 1Mb, being advertised on all media at the moment!!!!

    ATB

Good question, kind of got me thinking. Here's what came out of my brain..

In my opinion, once we have the items that you mentioned above, our expectations and new technology advancements will be offering something else that we want. Another reason to make people buy.

Most of us work in life, and those that work in life are helping and contributing toward evolution. A cleaner mops the floor with a mop because thats the way we do it, bill gates software team deliver highly clever interactive digital media tools because thats what we currently want.

When we the human race no longer want, that is when it will be enough..

10mbps will be enough to stream uncompressed DVDs with 5.1 sound.
I'm told this will be achievable later this year when ADSL2 becomes available with 18mbps.
