    Hi all :)

Had my 360 now for about 6 months, bought HD LCD to get best from games visually and 5.1 Yamaha system for sound, now would like to join Live and hopefully connect via wireless. 360 upstairs and only phone socket is downstairs near PC, dont really want to run cable all the way. Cant use Homeplugs as upstairs and downstairs are different ringmains.

I would be greatful for peoples experiences as to which Broadband suppliers you use, at present i am on Tiscali 1meg. I know i require a wireless modem/router and i see that some BB suppliers supply them on certain packages (Bt and Orange).

Also when on live how does this affect your monthly usage. I know i'll say only a couple of hours on live a week but it's pretty certain to go up to a couple of hours a night.

    Regards
    Craig

    Hiya buddy,

i use Plus net and have no issues with them. I had MAJOR issues with them when I ported from PIPEX but thats to be expected and a move of address didn't really help! I have a 4MB line and 20GB peak, unlimited off peak and it hasn't really made a dent in proceedings.

It really is each to their own really and you can onlt base it on your findings.

    hi there,

i use virgin.net - they are having some pproblems at the moment so i would avoid them if i were you - pings regularly exceed 250ms during peak times which makes a lot of games unplayable

Thats a shame, i was just looking on their website and it seemed they offer a good deal.

I would like a to be able to get a wireless modem/router in with the offer, so could be bt (home hub) or orange (live box), any opinions?

Plus net seems good (thanks MChatterley) and supply my own wireless kit.

    Decisions, decisions

I've only been connected to Live for a couple of weeks (got my 360 for my b'day at the beginning of the month) and I'm connected via BT. Not had any issue's so far with it either.

I'm not using their Homehub but the wireless BT voyager 2091 instead. Set up and connecting was very easy plus being able to view my digital photo's in the living room is an added bonus.

I sometimes begrudge paying the premium for bt broadband but ive not had one problem in 4 years (thank god as there indian call centres can be a nightmare !!!!).

I keep telling myself i can get it for half the price elsewhere but 'if it aint broke !!'

im with Madasafish, been with them for a couple of weeks so cant comment on any long term use but at the moment the connection im getting is very impressive (between 3-5 MB Download) although i do get a few disconnects from live but i think this is due to the modem settings which ive yet to look at.

I'm with Be Unlimited, well worth it if theyre on your exchange.
If your near you exchange you could be getting 22mb down.

I'm miles from my exchange but get 7mb down and 1.2 up (the upstream is well worth it for a gamer).

I'm with Telewest, have been for several years ever since 512mb was brought out, now with a 2mb connection and its fine no issues with gaming.

Though with 2mb i find i can't download something at a high speed, say 500kb/s and also play on live.
