Broadband For Gaming?

    im looking for a broadband internet isp so i can go online with my pc/ and or consoles.
    but i dont want NTL.
    and i dont have/or want a bt phone line.

    what other options do i have? im in a ntl cabled area so if theres any other companies out there that can supply with BB.
    or does anyone use other companies?

    You could use a satellite link, but if you want satellite upstream it costs a fortune!

    You could use ISDN but you would only get speeds up 128K and it would cost a fair amount (you might need a BT line too).

    Basically your two options are NTL cable or ADSL (With a BT phoneline needed).

    What is wrong with NTL cable?

    Cable is cheaper, faster and more reliable than ADSL? I only have ADSL cos when I moved house Telewest wouldn't fit it there.

    ive had billing issues with ntl so i dont want to use them again, and i really dont want to use a phone line as i dont need one.
    :(

    you can get AOL via NTL cable lines, but for an extra £3 a month.

    AOL is not compatible with Xbox Live though I think.

    Aol is compatable with Xbox Live it was Beta tested towards the end of last YR and was fully launched about Feb this year I know of people who are using AOL with any probs at all now If you are on AOL if you type in XBox live in the keyword search you will goto a referance page but then again why would you want to pay an extra £3 when NTL is good enough

    My apologies. I read on the Literature that I had that it wasnt compatible. Sounds like its out of date.
