Took a phonecall today from our letting agents to advise that our rent payment for this month had been refused by the bank - a touch odd I thought as I was only paid last week so thought i'd better check the account... British gas had deducted £2825.25 via Direct Debit for our Electricity instead of the usual £25!! Unbelievable! Needless to say I spent most of my afternoon attempting to retrieve the money, and find out what happened. Pretty much sorted now (thanks to Barclays who rather surprisingly, were fantastic) aside from finding a new Electricity/Gas supplier Who needs to worry about having your card cloned/bank fraud when you have an account with British Gas! Idiots.
