Brightness etc

Hey everyone,

My 46 inch X series arrived to day and is on the wall :)

As the thread dedicated to this set is HUGE can someone advise me re correct calibration Brightness, Contrast etc settings please.

I can never understand this fixation people have with setting there TV's up the same as someone else. For all you know their Tv may be in a dark room and yours in a bright room, so therefore what ever settings they have would be of no use to you. The best thing to do is over a period of a week watch good quality transmissions at varying light levels and make tweeks that suit you. If there was a recommended setting surely the manufactures would put it in the menu.
