Thanks for the review Kumari. It sounds almost equal parts interesting and disappointing.

I went to see this yesterday with my 16yr old daughter and we both really enjoyed it. It's another film where too much is shown and given away in the trailer though.

Not my cup of tea going from the Trailer, though I liked the concept. Good to know in advance that the Trailer is true to the actual film.

Seeing this tonight. Certainly looks like there is too much in the trailers.

Been to see a string of mediocre films. Not seen Toy Story 4 yet, will do but animations are not really my thing (except some of the Japanese ones like Your Name, The Wind Rises, Grave of the Fireflies etc.).

Have Apollo 11 booked in the IMAX for next weekend - fingers crossed that it going to be a big improvement over the stuff I have been watching recently - no spoilers though, I don't want to know how it ends :).

      Cheers,

      Nigel

I enjoyed this, it was quite different and the dark interpretation of superman was a surprise
with enough gore to make it memorable. A gore ridden, enslaved earth under his rule where he had sliced and diced the population along with the justice league references in the credits to be a totally dominate being would make for a very dark and interesting sequel.

I'm not going to watch this, but this post feels like it needs to be hidden at least in part with a "Spoiler" for those that intend to

Might give it a go tonight , as a anti superhero mix up flick goes, the full horror genre and gore part I find an interesting change from the anti super trait of super hero of comedic swearing n laughs . A bit darker like Watchmen or Logan may appeal.

      Disappointed..

Was expecting a A Quiet Place quality but got Sharkoraus Vs Megladon instead :)

      5/10 for effort.

The movie has an identity problem. He obviously is not Kal from Krypton, so the Superman references are just marketing nonsense.

I'm sorry but I think you're the only one struggling to grasp this concept, despite it being explained to you several times before (although the fact that the posts have been deleted makes me wonder whether this is all intentional).

The line is "What if Superman was evil?"

You're taking it literally, as if we're watching Superman III.

It's basically saying "What if an alien baby who crashed on earth and was brought up by human parents, LIKE Superman, was brought up and turned out to be evil?" only summarised without the words in bold.

Does that make this any clearer?

Alternatively... "What if he were like Superman only evil?" / "He's not Superman but he is super evil" / "What if a super man were not Superman and really mean?" / "Okay, Jokerr, just for you, it's like this..."

I enjoyed it as others have said trailer gave too much away but I’d like to see a sequel

[Christ I hate having to post this, but Thank You Ripsnorter for using the subjunctive.]

The film sounds quite interesting, will add it to my To Watch list :)
