I am trying to linki my Samsung Q35 laptop running Windows XP to my Sony Bravia KDL-26V-4500.
On the Remote's Input button I don't get a PC option after the Component option. I have tried switching on and using the Windows Display manager to send a message to the TV.
Black screen on all input settings.

I have tried with a Lenora laptop running Windows 7 and the PC sees it but if I select it there is still no picture and no PC option on the Input.

I read somewhere that a VGA for the PC to HDMI cable may solve it.

Any suggestions.

VGA is analogue, HDMI is digital so going VGA - HDMI would need some sort of converter if there is one, make sure the PC is outputting a resolution your TV will accept, then you probably have to set the laptop to out put to TV via the fn + function key, on my laptop it is fn+F4

On any PC connected to a TV via VGA, the dedicated graphics card drivers need to be installed.
Using the native Windoze drivers that are part of the OS won't work.
Also ensure that you have a VGA lead with all 15 pins present and connected - many VGA leads omit 1 or 2 pins.

I had a day of useless emails from Sony.
Then went into a Panasonic dealer in north Bristol as I was passing.
He suggested resetting TV back to factory settings.
Did this and the PC input option is there and it works a treat.
