Im sure many of you, audiphiles, had this question in your mind when you were trying to get a decent system for a reasonable price.
    Ive got a PannyTX42P60
an cheap DVD player (called Mikomi...now stop laughing!!)
    and Airport express

Basically Im more keen to hear to good and clear music thru my system.
    My conections would be:

Telewest HD TV drive to system (for 5.1 audio)
DVD player (or get HDMI one later on) to the system for (5.1 audio)
Airport express to the system for beaming wireless itunes thru the system.

Ive seen DHT500 , good system, excellent quality sound, but has it got the above conection facilities?
If I wanna upgrade, I can conect, say, a HDMI DVD player to the Denons (acting as a reciever for audio) and the video would be directly to the Panny (its got 2 HDMIs)
So was wondering if which one is the best.
In separates its Yamaha rxv359 vs Denon 1306 wich cost around 170 and I can get Tannoy 5.1 entry level for another 170. thats agaon going to be within the budget. But is it worth the hassle and what if they dont match properly...(they r still entry level setup anyway)
Or the sony STR700 with 2 HDMIs in it but do I actually need it as the panny has got 2 HDMIs and the video has been taken care of...its only the audio that needs to be taken careof.

Even if Denon s outdates and wanna upgrade it in future, I can keep the speakers and go for a reciever+ DVD player later on. The speakers look and sound really good.
Hope someone enlightens me and hepls me make a quick decision as Im having sleepless nights.

The Denon all in one with the dvd player is surprisingly good!!! if thats all you need then it fits the bill alright!

You can plug in your sky hd optical straight in the back and your covered!

Are they better than the one from the AV 59 pack? apart from the tannoys subwoofer being more powerful.

personally i would go for the av59 pack as it is and upgrade over time, maybe get a pair of speakers for better stereo and as budget allows get better centre, rears and sub.

I've said it a couple of times already this week::boring:
The Yamaha 359 receiver is essentially a "budget" machine and as such, the speakers that accompany it in the AV59 pack are well matched. It doesn't make sense to buy expensive/better quality speakers for the 359, because they are likely to show up the receivers' limitations.

Take the Raaaaven's advice and get either the AV59 or Denon 1356 entry level pack now and upgrade further down the line......

Another consideration is that AV receivers at this level are not designed to be great at reproducing music (i.e. CD's), it is necessarily compromised to be a jack of all trades.....
