Could someone post pics on braiding six cat5 cables?

made 15meters of 3xCat5 for surrounds, but 6xCat5 is pain in the ass

I don't have pics cause i haven't done six i've only done 3 like yourself.

But if you are doing six, pair up the wires so you've 3 pairs of 2 and braid the pairs the way you braided the 3 single wires.

    Hope that makes sense

I think knightshade has them done this way and has posted photos on this.

I did mines that way 2 lengths of 2 1/2 metres , with 6 cables for each.
I taped both up at the ends and then braided them in pairs of two.

6xCAT5 for surrounds/rears is Overkill IMHO, I can see why you may want to run 6xCAT5 towards your front pair but even at 2.5m 6xCAT5 is verging on the huge side for even those fronts. 6xCAT5 over 15m is plain dodgy IMHO, will effect the LRC value of CAT5 as speaker cables negatively.

Sometimes I feel that CAT5 is overspecced in CSA terms, 3xCAT5 is perfectly fine over 6-7m IME. Unless you have 100W+ amps on the end of each channel TBH I would not bother.

PS Single wire then cable jump.

    CJROSS,

I'd still prefer 6xcat5, cause i've read somewhere, that it is possible to biamp front speakers usings denon's fronts and surround back outputs.

i've already made 3xcat5 for surrounds.
