Any version of this film in DTS? sorry if this has been posted in any other thread...
I would bet the house that the Japanese version will have it.
None of the US versions do.....better hope the Japs get it on one of their versions.
Why can't they put DTS on all Film Releases? We all want option!!!!
True, but if they took off some of the Crap Extra's there would be room!
Thats why the 'superbit' versions of films were launched.
Also Very True........
Although the superbit range is pretty limited...
I noticed in another thread people were debating quality of DTS vs DD.
Glad to know there is someone else out there who prefers DTS!
I can think of quite a few films that are some of my favourites and all have DTS soundtracks and all of them are superior to the DD versions...
DTS rips DD to pieces IMHO
Some of the recent DTS soundtracks make me sit back in awe
DD is very good dont get me wrong - but DTS is king
Totally agree watched Hero in DTS WOW excellent soundtrack
i hope Family Guy doesn't look at this thread he'll slap your legs for that kind of talk
How can DTS be better, Dolby invented five channel surround so the 4.1 sound from Dolby HAS to be better stands to reason.
Play any DVD that has both soundtracks on there side by side and DTS always sounds sweeter...
Don't make me read up on the reasons why, please!!
I thought DTS has a wider frequency range or something like that - it also uses up more space on the disc so in theory should be better
I have loads of DTS discs and I cant think of one of those where the DD soundtrack matches, let alone beats it - DTS is far more dynamic... This is only my opinion though - each to their own and all that...
It has a higher Bit rate and is not as compressed as DD...
I thought I'd throw my two penneth worth in on the neverending DD vs. DTS debate.
I have IMHO very good hearing and a good set-up and I would say that both DD and DTS are good, but, even though I have heard DD tracks which are as good as DTS I have never heard any DD tracks that are better.Where as I have heard plenty of DTS tracks that are superior to DD.
But one thing I would add that has often been said before, no matter how good a DTS or DD track is if you think the film it is on is crap then it won't make the film better.
(In the case of 'The Bourne Supremacy', IMO a DTS track would be the icing on an all ready impressive cake!!)
great stuff ;-)
DTS wins again
It's not as simple as that, you're comparing COMPLETELY different codecs and I believe Dolby Digital is more efficient so compression isn't as much an issue...
Going back to the original point.
Does anyone actually know if the UK R2 release of Bourne Supremacy
will have DTS like the original UK R2 release of Bourne Identity did?
I don't know for sure, but I expected Universal to give Van Helsing a DTS track, but they didn't. So maybe they won't for this either.
Bought a "Thai-copy" of this Dvd last week in Thailand. Says DTS on the cover and sounds like it too but with these copies You cant be sure of course. No prob with the pic-quality either. Price was 2 USD.
Checked the BS Dvd again and it says DTS on the amp when playing it.
Some copies do do this - I had a really really crap copy of the two towers that a mate brought back from thailand - whilst it was still showing in the cinema here. That said DTS and sure enough my Amp did flag it up as DTS - however it didn't stop me hearing the guy coughing all the way through it - the guy that is who was sat by the bloke in the cinema with a camcorder recording it!
Some pirates are very clever like this - and i'm afraid to say I think yours is as I have the official R3 of this and no DTS - and R3 does cover Thailand if I'm not mistaken
Yes Eas4uk, last year in Thailand I bought 15 Dvds, 2 of which was handrecorded. This year I checked every Dvd in the shop-Tv before buying telling the salesman about my bad experiences from last year and he said" Yes last year no good quality but this year very good!" (Of course he would say that!) but after going through the Dvds at home I must give him right, cant fault the pic or sound(even if its only DD) on any of them.
This years batch that my mate bought back were a lot better in fairness - however I did notice that a load were in 4:3 rather than 16:9 which was a shame but there you go...
