Recived my new Epson tw10h PJ this morning, and due to the layout of the bedroom and the fitted cuboards etc the PJ just isnt going to be fesable :(

The height it needs to be at just isnt possible.

Now I'm a little stuck at what to do.

Bought if from dabs, and seeing as it's been opend I dont see me being able to send it back via distance buying rule.

How much will I loose selling this second hand on here? Only had 10min bulb useage too :(

Will have to now look at a cheap LCD TV.

Don't you have a 14 day cooling off period nowadays with stuff. What condition is the box it came in in.

The box and the content are all 100%, all thats missing is the plastic around the cables, but the DSA only covers unopend/unused items I believe.

Due to the fact that the box has been opened and the product removed, cables being taken out of plastic sleeve ( and tested for 2 minutes but that isn't really noticeable ) does this mean the Distance Selling Act does not apply to returning the item within 7 days?

The companys returns FAQ states :

Goods unwanted within 7 working days from delivery.
Please use this option to return products that are not faulty or damaged but are being returned because you have changed your mind within 7 days. It is expected that these goods are un-used and will be in a re-saleable condition.

If you cant send it back , does the Epson not have 'Keystone' correction which would give you more flexibility as regards placement ?

If you paid by Credit card you have 14 days under the customer credit act to return an item. Condition you have mentioned should not be a problem. If you contact the seller and they are not willing to accept, contact the credit car company as they are joint liable and will accept and take up with retailer.

Also, can't you turn the PJ upside down and flip the picture? This should help you mount it at a sensible height.

I own a small PC shop and a customer came in asking if I could source a cheap LCD projecter, as he had only seen around £500 and wanted cheaper. I took his phone number I think you could do a deal with him if you are interested and do not mind loosing a wee bit on it.

    Cheers

A projector with 10mins on the bulb could not be returned because it's not in a saleable condition cause it's not new I would have thought.

    Which would be dishonest.
Try for a second to imagine how you would feel if you received that projector.

Agree, and whoever got it would probably be back on this forum winging about it and we'd all be saying how disgraceful it was! :)

Why not take a little time to measure up the room and post the details on the forum.

In addition what size of screen were you trying to achieve.

Someone on the forum might come up with an idea for you.
