Assault on the mid-range market Boston Acoustics has just introduced its new m series loudspeakers as a follow on to last years a series entry-level designs. The newly-developed m series, says Boston, is about to establish a new standard in the mid-priced segment. The initial m series models comprise two 3-way floorstanding speakers, the flagship M350, with four 5 ¼ (13.3cm) woofers and a 4 (11.4cm) midrange (£2199.90); the slightly smaller M340 with four 4 (11.4cm) woofers (£1699.90) and a 2-way bookshelf model M25, with one 5 ¼ (13.3cm) woofer (£579.90). The fourwoofer construction made it possible to keep the cabinet slim and elegant but offer deep bass performance. All m series models utilize the Extended Wide Bandwidth (EWB) tweeter in its second generation and are born from a research and development effort with experienced engineers and music enthusiasts from three continents. The m series family of loudspeakers was designed to deliver accurate and natural sound from an aesthetically pleasing design. The M350, M340 and M25 utilize the Extended Wide Bandwidth (EWB) tweeter and Boston Acoustics Lo-Q cabinet construction. All of the m series models are designed to blend with each other and to mix and match with other Boston Acoustics. The first products from the m series - M350, M340 and M25 - will be available end of August 2012 in gloss black lacquer and traditional walnut veneer, both with black faux leather trim. To complete the new family, further models will be introduced in autumn this year.
