    Hello all,

    I'm going to purchase a new shiny 4k enabled amp to go with my new 4k TV, and while i'm there i'm thinking about upgrading my speakers too. I'm currently using 7 year old KEF 5.1 speakers.

    I'm looking for speakers which are small but produce a quality sound, which has led me to either Bose AM10, or QA 7000i speakers.

    Which of these two do you feel are better value for money?

    What Kef speakers do you currently have (make/model). Unless they are the very basic Kef eggs (1005 model) then neither of the speakers you mention are going to represent a significant improvement over your current speakers. I would steer clear of the Bose as they tend to be over priced and under perform.

    Hi mate,

    Thanks for the response.

    The KEF speakers I have are;

    KEF KHT-2005

    Would there be little point in upgrading these?

    The QA speakers are basically the same level of speaker as the Kefs you have so would not really represent an improvement in sound quality. They may sound different which you may perceive as an improvement but I suspect they will sound very similar. You would probably need to double your current budget for the QA speakers to really get an improvement.
    As for the Bose they tend to be high end prices but budget performance from my experience of them.

    Thanks for the help, do you have a example of a set of speakers that would be noticeably better?

    Thanks mate
