Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Hits PS4 on March 24th – PlayStation.Blog

The Handsome Collection has both games running in gorgeous HD and looking pretty damn great, at a resolution and performance level never before seen in Borderlands on consoles. Beyond that, The Handsome Collection also has another cool first for Borderlands: four-player split-screen! Yup, four friends can hang out on the couch and play in split-screen on a single TV with The Handsome Collection, in Borderlands 2 or The Pre-Sequel.

Have you already started Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and/or Borderlands 2 on PS3 or Borderlands 2 PS Vita? Don’t worry: using cross-save functionality, you’ll be able to transfer your save to and from PS4 to pick up right where you left off, along with your leveled-up character, Badass Rank, and everything else you worked so hard for.

But what about the DLC? Well, that’s all included, too. Yup, The Handsome Collection includes ALL of the add-on content for both Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel, which is a heck of a lot of stuff. To give you an idea of just how much we’ve stuffed into that little box, here’s a list of everything you’ll get in addition to the base games:

The bit about performance sounds interesting. Maybe it will mean 60 frames per second gameplay.

But I would much rather have the original Borderlands over Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.

Borderlands 2 is great but I'm not convinced the art style lends itself to looking that much better in "high definition".

You can only post in here if you're handsome.

<--- Case in point.

I've not played the Pre-Sequel so even though it's inferior I'll happily play it over BL1.

I've missed BL2 so much since moving over to PS4, it's one game I'll happily play over and over (Unlike Destiny lol)

LOL, you is talking "claptrap" Det :)
You can't prove it. There's no way you could have seen my medical records.

I don't need to, I can hear you scratching from the other side of the pond :)

Time to look for some soundproofiing.

Not played the pre sequel but for some reason i could never get into Borderlands 2 despite a couple of attempts at it

Depending on price this might be a maybe for me especially with all the DLC included More than likely this will drop in price pretty quickly a few weeks after its release.

Sunk over 150 hours on BL2 on my pc. I already have the prequel on pc as well so no need for this. Good news anyway :)

I loved BL2, still one fo my favourite ever console games. I loved it so much I played it to completion on 360 then again on PS3. I think I`ll give BL2 a miss on PS4 but am all over the pre-sequel like a dose of the clap(trap)

Agreed, not sure where the magic is going to be worked here. Pure Cash in.

That being said Borderlands is a cracking game. Done 2 so only pre sequel for me so will prob get that on PC for pittance soon anyway.

Might consider it.

This would work for me given that I haven't played either although I, more or less, completed Borderlands. Have 2 via PS+ but haven't played it yet, didn't consider the presequel as I don't think I've bought any new PS3 games since the PS4 came out.

Going to get Saints Row 4 remaster first though.

To say Borderlands 2 is better than the first one would be a massive understatement. Well worth playing if you haven't already.

I think I'm going to pick this up but I played a lot of Borderlands 2 on the Xbox 360 so I'm not sure if I should get it on the Xbox One to transfer my save over or get it on the PS4 and start again.

It's not simply polishing the visuals, it's overall performance and stability, certain weapons totally break the game on ps3 so this is great for me, try using a conference call on a gunzerker and the frame rate just grinds you to a halt. Krieg has so much going on with his crazy skills than he just breaks the game completely.

That's playing solo, it's far worse when there's 4 of you playing online using skills and weapons with any kind of visual effect just makes it unplayable. I don't expect the PS4 release to run at 60fps I'd just be happy for it to hold a steady 30fps when it gets hectic.

So what you're saying is the game is broken on the PS3 so after that disaster you're delighted to give them more money for copy and pasting the pc version in :)

Yes, I'm more than happy to pay more to get something closer to the PC version, I even considered buying a gaming pc solely for this game (like a grander version of buying the Wii only to play Mario Kart) but I hedged my bets that because it did so well on PS3/360 that it would be a prime candidate for the PS4/X1 upgrade :)

I'd have paid £40 for the pre-sequel alone but for it to be bundled with a sooped up version of one of my favourite ps3 games together with all the dlc is fantastic news.

I can happily play the same levels of borderlands over and over and never get bored.

Preferred the first one myself: better weapons, better characters, elemental damage wasn't nerfed.
2 saw a lot of improvements, but many changes seemed for the sake of being different, not better.
Also a lot of the DLC seemed like cash-ins; and overall i think they had a surprise hit with the first and are milking the IP like Assassins Creed or CoD now...

I disagree with that, I played BL2 20x more than BL1 which reflects my preference.

I went back and played some BL1 after 2 and the menus and interface were awful in comparison imo.

Hmmm, don't think i mentioned any non-gameplay features.

But it's ok, you're allowed an opinion, even if it's wrong <group-hug> :smashin:

I guess it's good then that you can't have a wrong opinion lol

I've played the original for a few hundred hours, the sequel has a thousand improvements, some of which are huge and the game overall is so much bigger and better refined. My main improvement was the endgame is great in the sequel, there's a whole slew of raids to take on, lots of cool mobbings area and of course the fantastic challenge of digistruct peak, bl1 you have craw and farming the armoury. Pre-sequel suffers worst in this regard, zero end game at all.

Saying that I actually played the original after Borderlands 2 and I can see why there are people who swear by it. I loved some of the coms in that game, it was fantastic that you could have health regen but my favourite was the ammo regen, which came on mods and even on a lot of legendary guns, makes specialising in just one weapon type to be practical and it so refreshing not spending half your gaming time opening ammo containers lol. Then there was the weapons proficiencies, so much better that the law of diminishing returns fest that is badass ranks, you get better with whichever weapons type you use most PERFECT!.

My main gripe with the first one is there was no-way to make it anymore challenging, even TVHM was pretty easy, with such lame AI the enemies are sitting ducks, you can literally run rings around them and they are just rooted to the spot at many times. Bl2 gets a lot of criticism for it's slag reliance in uvhm especially but I loved how you could tailor it's difficulty to your own liking, enemies feel too bullet spongy for you in uvhm?, then play with op2 gear, you think the game is easy then stick it right upto op8.

Damn I really tried to be brief and write just one small paragraph coverage one small point on the two games because I could go on for days if I get started lol

Elemental damage was da-bomb in the first game, I was so happy the first time I found a Hellfire, totally melts face. Legendary drops in the first game are so much more common which is great for the casual gamer who doesn't have hundreds upon hundreds of hours to invest, you actually see them in vendors which you never do in bl2.

Weapon variety is a funny one, there's a lot more cool and unique weapons in the sequel, especially legendaries but you simply don't see them unless you either A. Invest 1000+ hours or B. Trade or dupe a lot or C. Edit your save with gibbed this leads to your arsenal feeling very samey and you end up relying on the golden chest for weapons that are at your level.

Borderlands one isn't as restrictive with which manufacturers produce which type of weapons (bring back S&S) and of course it has the legendary doubly anarchy Smg's, fans have been crying out for that gun to return but do they listen, nope not in bl2, not in the dlc, not in pre-sequel *sigh*.
