so I've started taking a lot of photos of my collection at the weekend with the newly acquired Nikon DSLR & I've been really enjoying it so I thought I'd like to share them with the like minded folk on here, rather than clog up the various random threads, this way everyone knows what they're in for.
Hope no one minds my self indulgence:
I'll be updating it pretty randomly & sporadically, whenever I get a chance basically but I'll try and maintain some kind of order.
Any constructive criticism is welcome & I hope you all like them but be gentle I'm still a total amateur & learning every time I use it.

FYI: I don't use any photo editing, photo shop or digital trickery, I'm going all Christopher Nolan & trying to do it all in camera lol, all shots are taken using only my Nikon D3300 with the kit lens (55-18mm f/3.8 VR II) and done so using the full manual mode.

I'll get the ball rolling with the Mad Titan, a lovely figure & one that I had been anticipating for a long while, I feel they really delivered with him & he photographs well.

Not sure I had a canon 1000d before. Loved it for taking shots of fish tank.

It won't be anytime soon but hoping this year!

Glad you are doing this. I've been very much enjoying your pics so keep em coming.

I also can't believe you aren't processing these at all. They look amazing for untouched. You definitely should look into it though, it's a whole new world of interest and excitement and based on your raw pics, you'd get mind blowing results.

Thanks mate, the whole photoshop thing is definitely something I'll be looking into in the future but at the moment just trying to get to grips with the technical aspects of the camera & im really enjoying taking photos, the computer side less so.

Another figure I don't feel gets enough love, I suppose for some the paint scheme is too much but I've always loved the way it 'pops' on a shelf & because of the colours it also photographs really nicely.

Some Hawkeye (Age of Ultron) shots
Such a nice figure to pose & pretty easy positioning the arms compared to some other figures.
He's Very dynamic looking figure with the bow and arrow.

So I received Vision today, lovely figure and I love the colours. Another figure that I think 'pops' I've taken some really quick shots (with a couple of drinks inside me lol) I'll do some proper shots this weekend.
But here's a taster for anyone still interested

Hot toys have done another incredible job, considering what they have to achieve with this figure at 1/6 scale, its staggering really, they're a bunch of wizards!!!

I still can't get over that these images are "raw". I know nothing about cameras but that camera must be the dog's.

In the DSLR world my camera is budget, but it is a good camera, good reviews etc (it's a Nikon D3300, btw)
What really helps is the photography light bulb I got of Amazon (about £8) I just plugged it straight into my desk lamp :)
It's an LED 5500k which gives a really nice natural light & I use Craft tissue paper to diffuse it slightly. Nice clean Backgrounds & light reflectors (aka white pieces of cardboard) help as well.

It says a lot about your camera that it can pick up all that intricate detailing so well. ;)

Sadly, no. :( Nor have I seen any of the Captain America or Thor films. :thumbsdow I only got see Iron Man 3 recently because it was on BBC One.

Sure thing. Could you loan me the blurays? ;):p

I know. I feel almost embarrassed by my admission given the esteemed company we keep on here. I'd love to see them all, of course I would. I wish Blockbuster was still is business. :(

Lol! I was thinking the same thing, I find a cost effective way to watch new releases on Blu ray (the only way I watch movies at home) is to buy on release day from a supermarket (or pre order from an Amazon or Zavvi) & then once you've watched it, sell it on the forums classified section, you end up just paying a few quid, probably about the same (sometimes less) than the old blockbuster rental charges.
