Hi,
I don't know what has happened but the option to 'boot from the USB device' has disappeared from the Boot Menu in the BIOS:

Boot Manager
Boot Mode
UEFI
USB Boot Enabled
PXE Boot to LAN Enabled

EFI
Windows Boot Manager
ST ..... SSHD-8GB
ST ..... SSHD-8GB
ST ..... SSHD-8GB
EFI Network for IPv4 ....
EFI Network for IPv6 ...

Clearly there are three IDENTICAL items above referring to booting from the HD (Hard Drive). Obviously, originally there were two different options present (something like that):
DVD/CD .... <----- to boot from a CD/DVD device
and
USB ....... <---- to boot from a USB device

I really don't know what has happened, but I think that the culprit is having a dual-boot system:
Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 on my Lenovo IdeaPad Z710 laptop. When I created that dual boot system, a year ago, I needed to run two (free well-known programs) to correct the boot-manager-database. Perhaps those two programs did MODIFY the Boot Manager menu?!

As I've read updating the BIOS is risky and not recommended.

Final question:
Will restoring my laptop's Windows 8.1 system to the FACTORY settings also restore the BIOS to its original state?

Thanx,
Adam
