Generally, I don 't agree with this (Germany and now Italy excepted) but is it that wrong ?
It makes the opposition feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable.
A hostile atmosphere towards the opposition is what we want.
It can't make us anymore hated as eveveryone hates us already.
Thoughts ?

Where do you end what we do then to make it hostile? Where's the cut off?

How about just show some class?

I agree it is not nice, what do people gain from it?

It's nothing personal - it's just business.
As long as we win, who cares ?
You really think booing an anthem will have any impact on whether we win or lose it?

That's the point, it just isn't needed.

You can build a good atmosphere without going down that classless road.

England had the home advantage in all but one of their Euro matches so may as well throw in a bit of booing, fireworks, laser pointers and perhaps smuggle a sniper rifle or rocket launcher into the stadium too, make it as hostile as possible, take advantage of that precious home advantage

You can go down that road but this is football - give The Italians the most hostile reception you can. Boo every decision for them, every foul, every yellow/red card.
Winning is everything, whether you like it or not !

Right, but what does that have to do with the booing the anthem, though, before a ball has even been kicked?
