What the hell have Underwater & Avatar got to do with each other.
Avatar I’d say is the only bona fide hit for a 3D film, basically cos no one realised it was a gimmick yet. Had very little to do with the quality of the product.

In proper 007 news, the song will be dropping at Midnight !

full version

Performed by Billie Eilish
Written by Billie and Finneas,
Produced by Finneas and Stephen Lipson,
Orchestral Arrangement by Hans Zimmer and Matt Dunkley,
Guitar played by Johnny Marr

Better than the last one, but then what isn’t?

Not impressed on first listen. I’ll reserve final judgment until I hear it over the credits.

I like it, mainly cos it’s Billie, however the last few Bond songs are abit interchangeable for me, regardless of their Oscar glories and this doesn’t change that feeling for me.

think they could do with a band effort again, getting bored of these solo versions

Billie will perform the song at the 2020 BRITs on 18 Feb
accompanied by Finneas, Hans Zimmer and Johnny Marr

Not doing anything for me at all. Have tried some of her stuff since it was announced about the Bond song, but it's really not my thing (with the exception of Bad Guy which was pretty good). Fingers crossed the film is more impressive...

Nope, sadly not for me either. Was hoping for better than that.

Just doesn't feel like it ever gets going. Doesn't give me a sense of Bond. Which I know probably doesn't make any sense to anyone else, but I know what I mean. Like the great Bond songs always do.

Just me that quite likes it then ,,,, :D

Hmm. Apart from the fact there were loads of 3D hits, award winning films like Gravity really don't work half as well in 2D.
When the Avatar sequels hit they'll be such a success that maybe LG will (re)release a 3D OLED TV..
What puts people off is the glasses but you know what when I watched Tron: Legacy recently I enjoyed it so much I almost forgot I was wearing them. Couldn't care less for Bond in 3D though unless it's specifically crafted for the third dimension, as James Cameron seems so adept at. If it's just tacked on as an afterthought then it's a gimmick.

Thought I was going deaf till I heard the Sheena Easton video. What's with modern day singers singing like there the children childs of Tom Hardy or drugged up to the eyeballs.
Shirley you're not serious? ;)

Bassey's no shrinking violet. My elderly parents never cared for her "shouting" (their description), I love it.

This young Billie, who I've only listened to since yesterday, also receives criticism for singing too softly/quietly/whispering.

Just me that quite likes it then ,,,, :D
No, I like it too. Best since Chris Cornell, which still remains the best since A-Ha, when John Barry was last involved. Hated Gladys' LTK.

She has a nice throaty voice but I don't like the song, I'd much rather something up tempo and testosteronic like Live And Let Die now that's a Bond song. Boom!

Those three are probably my faves! and YOLT.

Haven't heard Billie Elish sing yet (although I probably have, without realising). I'm not down with the kids but I am seeing her name crop up a lot lately. At least it's a change from bloody Sheeran.

And don't call me serious.

yes have to agree about Mr Cornell, GOD rest his soul, love a good gee up theme song and it does that, i dont dislike the Adele and sam smith songs, but like the gritty vibe of the new theme,

Although Shirley's Goldfingers not my favorite Bond title song think the best one for the film a lot due to the orchestration.

Favourite Bond themes (bored at work)

  1. Licence to Kill (sorry Krish!)
  2. You Only Live Twice
  3. The Living Daylights
  4. View To A Kill
  5. Casino Royale/YNMN
  6. Goldfinger
  7. Live & Let Die
  8. Diamonds Are Forever
  9. The Man With The Golden Gun
  10. Octopussy

Worst: DAD, whatever that QoS dirge was, and Goldeneye.

Octopussy (ATH) only at 10? Another underrated tune along with Moonraker imo. I can never resist Barry's strings.

Agree its a lovely little tune. Moonraker wouldn't be too far out of the top 10 either. But I generally prefer something a little more bellicose for Bond.
