This sad news just broke on talkSPORT.

Only 70.

I had got used to watching him on The Verdict on Sky.

Straight-talking, wanted to work right up until the end.

One of the longest run-ups I ever saw too.

Bob was as much a part of Headingley '81 as Beefy; 8 for 43 remember?

Will be hugely missed, R.G.D. Willis, a cricket legend, player and pundit.

Rest in peace, Sir.

Wow, what a shock. Doesn’t seem that long ago he was on the telly. Agree, will always remember his part in that test.

RIP

Wow , although I must admit he seemed more frail in recent years on his commentating on Sky . Never realised he was of ill healh and just thought old age . Always respected his views on the game , of the players , of the management and loved his lil spats with Botham as he never backed off, back then or in latter years , much like his bowling .

Sad news, remember the 81 series like yesterday..
The long run up was the trademark signature.
