Hi Folks,

Got my xbox back from Microsoft the other day after the mobo dies and everything looks fine until i select 1080p then the sharpness disappears and its all blurry and horrible. 1080i looks ok as does 720 etc.

1080p was fine before i sent my xbox back, i have tested on 3 different component cables as well.

Have called Microsoft who are sending me a Rapid repair thingy but i dont wanna send it back if it is maybe summit daft that I have missed.

I have also tried to force 50hz and 60hz through the cable to see if maybe the tv aint picking up the res but alas the fault does look like it is the box.

Does anyone know what else I can try or am i resigned to having my baby taken into care for a week or so lol

The sharpness was fine before Microsoft changed the mobo, unfortunately my box doesnt take hdmi and vga tends to have washed out colours on my particular set (according to other m86/m87 owners).

Would love to have a hdmi capable box but the Mrs would stick the box up my ring if I spent money on a new one :(

Think i will have to send the box back though, dont wanna buy a vga cable if it was working fine before on component and providing a great picture. MS will fix for free just want to be confident the box is really at fault and I havent just overlooked something. Dont want some 1st line MS peep calling to say "no fault found" and i look like a proper noob
