Bluray Player with Analogue Out Advice

I'm looking to buy a Bluray player & ideally one with 5.1 analogue audio out so that I can continue to use my (aged) Yamaha home cinema amp. I'm looking to spend up to £200...

Advice greatly appreciated!

That's fine mate but you'll need to help me out a bit more... Do all BD players do this or only specific models? A few pointers would be really helpful?

The search engine will show multiple posts on this every day going back years. It is well worth using, especially when you are new here. DTS re encoders include Samsung, LG and Oppo and will allow you get the best with your existing kit but still having an excellent chance of bass management which most users need.

I think I should have spelled out that my amp is a Yamaha DSP E492. I currently have a Sony DVD with on-board DD decoder, which I hook-up to the 5.1 inputs of the Yamaha to drive the centre & rear speakers. I use my hifi to drive the front two.
I'd envisaged a BD player doing the same job without the need to replace my home cinema amp (which I think would be needed to deal with the DTS re-encode??)
Am I way off here?

No DTS on the 492 (look at the 800 for this), and no bass managemnt on analogue ins so you are shafted either way. Players with bass management are expensive so you might have to look at a new 'receiver'. The 800 will do much the same as your 492 (I used to use these as well but had to change for DTS also) but has DTS (from memory) and is available for £50 second hand, else look at other receivers. As your system is old, then you might be better off looking to spend more on a receiver rather than a player this time around. Good players aren't that expensive.
