I would guess at pretty much all of them these days. Look at manufacturers websites and they'll tell you what they do and don't support.

PAL is TV format, not a playback container/disc format etc.

Reason I asked is my friends LG player will not play copied CD's and struggles to play most DivX.

I also meant to say a multi-region BR DVD player.

And yes I don't know why I wrote PAL.

If you're feeling flush you could do a lot worse than an Oppo, and probably not much better.
