I need to get a new tv, and I'm thinking of going to bluewater as I might get a bargain in JL there instead of Oxford Sreet, which is nearest to me.
    Should I bother?
    I'm thinking Easter w/e.

er no, wouldn't even bother trying to get near Bluewater at Easter weekend, I'd go in an evening prior to that, not sure why that JL would be better then elsewhere though, mind you I find prices in the Oxford St store seem to be aimed at people who don't need to ask the price..

JL will publish there sale items before the sale anyhow.. and the price will be the same across the shops.. hell usually you can pre-book the sale items before the sale.

I've done that with furniture purchases at HOF..

I think that you mean "their" rather than "there" !!

Wish that the prices were the same across the JL group! They're currently offering the Pio 436 XDE from £2399 to £2799 depending on which store that you talk to. You can get one store to price match another though.

I had a hell of a job with Watford a couple of years ago getting them to match Brent X. I even got as far as giving up, getting back to the car and thinking "Why should this stupid pillock in the store here get away with breaking the group's own rules?" I eventually got my £150 price diff.

    Thanks

I must ask Wannaplasma which JL branch is £2399 for the PIO XDE ? The Kingston Upon Thames branch is £2795 and I feel a challenge coming on :)

    TIA

Then seconds later I see the JL Edinburgh post below  Just goes to show I should read before I post - however if the branch Wannaplasma knows about is a little closer......

JL do not publish sale prices before their "Clearance"
JL actually only reduce items that have been cancelled, damaged, missing items or returned/repaired. JL don't have an actual sale period of their own but will happily pricematch against other retailers during their sale periods.
Also JL will generally not reserve reduced goods during the clearance.

Just got back from the pub -hic - so i could be wrong  but last time I looked Watford was closer to Kingston than Edinburgh.
Ordered mine yesterday - delivery early April. Chap from JL even phone me back to say that he was going on hols but someone else would contact me re delivery nearer the date. JL service see! In the meatime, Dixons have canx my order as they have no stock. Anyone else come across this? I wonder if they are using this as an excuse as too many people are using the discount codes. I'm going to order at full value later and if they agree to ship it I'm off to Trading Standards!

    Good luck with matching Watford.
