Bluetooth Headphones for TV use

Standard Member
I tried using a set of Bluetooth headphones on my Panasonic TV using a cheap Bluetooth transmitter fitted in the 3.5 headphone jack. The headphones worked but there was a small lag (out of synch) audio compared to the TV speakers.
Is this to be expected when using a Bluetooth transmitter? and would a more expensive Bluetooth transmitter resolve this problem?

Do you have a setting to adjust audio delay?

Almost certainly a BT code-decode issue.

Low latency APT-X or Sony's equivalent are what you will need to minimise the delay... But both headphones and the BT transmitter will need to support the spec for low latency.

AFAIK there's no audio delay adjust on Panny TV analogue headphone outs; although the volume control is separate to the internal speakers.
Optical out (linked to hdmi arc if applicable to the TV age) may be another matter?

The optical source will almost certainly have adjustment of some form.
