This is the third time I've mentioned minipods so I apologise!!! (I have now deleted the other threads though!)

I love these speakers. I have 2 that I've been using as a stereo pair for some time now and am ready to upgrade to a 5.1 system. They definately lack bass but I intend to get a sub and I have read in various reviews that a fifth minipod doesn't cut it as a centre speaker.

So... I want to use 4 minipods in total - my fronts and rears - and then add in a separate sub and centre.

Does anybody use minipods in their set-up. Has anybody auditioned them in a surround set-up?

My guess in terms of the centre was that I would get the best match from a B&W speaker (blueroom being started by former B&W engineers). As for the sub, I'm really not sure - I don't think I'll go with blueroom's basestation as it doesn't really pack enough of a punch for me...

Any thoughts would be greatfully received.

The rest of my set-up is now as follows:

    Loewe Articos 32"
    Arcam DV88
    Arcam AVR200

(Maybe the minipods would be selling the system short...?)

    Cheers,

    Wilbur.

Wilbur, if you are going this route I would use ALL blueies. Putting any centre is only going to make things worse IMHO. Yes you will need a sub but you will have one interesting system when you finish:)

Life is too short to compromise. Always fancied a pair of these myself, saw a secondhand pair in StereoStereo once, was really tempted but it was not the sort of thing you can hide from her in doors easily;)

How do you hide your brace of Servos and Stentor then. Are they disguised as coffee tables :)

I doubt it as even if they used similar drive units the construction is so different that they would end up sounding completely different.

erm... I think they were 169quid and were a pale silver/blue colour, but I wouldn't put money on it.

Might be worth giving them a ring.

(mental note to self: must try to be more observant in future)

I may have a potential solution here. Have been in touch with Blueroom and they have a matched centre in production. I've got a picture but it's too large to attach to this post - let me know if you want to take a look and I can e-mail it to you... doesn't look as cool as the minis though.

I wouldn't mind a peep. Still consider the blueies though, some interesting posts on KEF Q1 on this subject.
