I HAVE JUST ORDERED A MX500 REMOTE FROM BLUEDO.COM VIA THE INTERNET ON MY DEBIT CARD AND HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM THEM CONFIRMING ORDER BUT AS EXTRA SECURITY THEY ARE ASKING ME TO PROVIDE BY EMAIL A SCANNED IMAGE OF FRONT AND BACK OF MY CARD. HAS ANYONE ELSE USED BLUEDO AND BEEN ASKED FOR THIS OR HAS ANYONE EVER BEEN ASKED FOR THIS FROM OVER COMPANIES?

yep, i have been asked for this before from other companies, especially if they are overseas.

ken crane wanted me to fax my credit card statement to them once.

I wouldnt email it though, not safe, fax it to them or phone them up telling them that email isnt safe.

To clarify - we request images of the credit card to confirm two things:

    1) That the customer indeed has the card in their possession

    2) That the card is in the customer's name.

We permit numbers to be "blacked out" to retain security, and we also permit usage of PGP encryption. Finally, we immediately destroy the images once we've confirmed the order.

After more than a few international orders, we've worked out this system and it has been beneficial in protecting both the customer and ourselves, by preventing fraud.

Feel free to contact me if you'd like more information - david@bluedo.com

    Thanks for that David!

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for clarifying your policy. Its great to see an American retailer prepared to ship to the UK.

Just like to say that I have just received my MX500 on Saturday from Bluedo. Took about 1 week from ordering to receipt.

Thanks Bluedo for the service. All I have to do now is to find some time to programme it!!
