Blue Ray Players and 4K upscaling?

Just bought the Sansung eu55f9000 4k set and have been looking to buy the SAMSUNG BDH6500 blue ray player with 4K upscaling, my question?
The TV itself upscales input to 4K, so would this player make any difference to the picture quality?
Therefore, could I just go for a low cost 3d player?
The picture on this tv is great.

If the scaler in the TV is good then it shouldn't make a difference.

Although if the source is doing the scaling rather the the TV, it should cut down on any additional processing the TV has to do and in theory avoid lag/lip sync issues. Best thing to do is try and get a 4K/U-HD upscaling BluRay player (from somewhere you can return it easily) and try it out for yourself.
