Hi all,

I am looking at investing in a blue ray player.

My Denon AV amp does not accept audio via HDMI, only by optical or 6 channel audio leads.

As such I am looking at a blue ray player with 6 channel output for audio.

My Arcam DVD player is used for DVD etc so I do not need one with good up scaling abilities.

Can anyone make a suggestion as to which players I should look at?

Yours hopefully

I just got a Sony BDP-S550 for this and (after a few hiccups getting it confirgured) am very happy with it. If you shop around they can be had for a good price. I paid £230 for a DVD multi-region model. Region 2 only can be had at Richer Sounds for £215 if you can find stock.

I was in the same situation and went for the Pioneer 51FD and it has great audio via the analogue outs IMO - very pleased with it

Can you get any of these as multi region players (in terms of blue ray discs)?

My Arcam DVD player will play my region1 and 4 DVDs

Thank you in advance

You should be able to get a decent price on the Pioneer 51 Blu-ray as it is being discontinued.

Yes you can multi-region it. Any decent dealer would know how to do it and to honest shouldn't charge extra for that feature.

And it has analogue multi-channel outs.

Happy hunting
