Blue Ray HDTV's mother in Europe and UK?

    I'm assuming they will be using Blueray to show films in HDTV.

    So with films and Blueray players avaliable, perhaps we shall start to see more and more HDTV sets and projectors over here in blighty.

    Chicken and egg all over again.

    They will likely use D5 tape for HD broadcast. Blu-ray is still vapourware at the moment with regard toa real bona fide standard.

    DVHS or WMP9 are the only formats currently available to the consumer.

    I thought blu-ray was launched in Japan a few months ago with their HD-Receiver/Recorder? Not a pre-recorded format, but surely a sign of things to come maybe? A lot of comapnies seem to be signed up to the Blu-Ray format.
