    Hi

I want to pre-order a Blu-Ray off the PlayUSA website and it says the Blu-Ray is region 1 and will only play on North American Blu-Ray players. Basically my question is, will this region 1 disc play on a UK PlayStation 3? If so, does this mean the PS3 can play any region Blu-Rays?

    Thanks for the help.

Hi, your UK PS3 will be locked to Region B, so it won't play a region A ("1") BluRay.

However some BD's are 'multi region' and Play sometimes only list the 'native' region of the disc on their US website. What title are you looking at?

You can find more on BD region encoding here :)

It's a Universal Studios release, Axel Music shows Universal's releases as being all region free/unlocked. How true is this?

One more quick question, are Lions Gate releases usually region free? Looking at another release aswell but just want to make sure it will work before I pre-order anything.

Punisher: War Zone. The new Punisher film that has just been released here. I'm probably gonna watch it at the cinema anyway but the Blu-Ray is out in the US next month so gonna pick it up early if I can rather than wait for the UK release.

Difficult to answer as Lionsgate tend to use both, for instance,3:10 to Yuma is region free and The King of New York and American Psycho are region locked.

I don't think its due till mid March. Perhaps the best idea would be to wait until there are some reviews confirming the lock status
