There are way too many releases for my wallet so i'm going to have to pick and choose my purchases carefully over the next few months. Whatever i don't get i can always pick up later when there's a lull in new releases.

Ahh, you just can't please some people. :)

I still think there are plenty more to come.

Ahh, you just can't please some people. :)

Hey, i'm not complaining - it's nice to have the choice. Sadly, my wallet (and her indoors) dictates that i'll have to be a tad more, shall we say, 'selective' with my purchases! :smashin:

I still think Alien, X-Men 2, Armageddon, Batman Begins and Golden Eye should have made this list. Who knows maybe some of them will.

Predator's getting a Euro release aswell (there's a review over at AVS) and that's another 'must have' title. I could always start getting them delivered to work so i can sneak them into the collection when Mrs Morrison's not around. :D

Some good and great titles there BadAss.

Die Hard for me.

God, I've had From Hell on back-order for ages.

By the way, just a small point, September isn't officially in the 4th qtr, but what the heck, Just make it announced titles from now until Christmas :thumbsup:

I havn't got a blinkin hope of a qtr of them.......... (alot i would prefer once the price has dropped anyway).......

28 days later was the worst picture I have ever seen on DVD (shot on video i think). I cannot see how this will work in HD

Some excellent releases there - Q4 is looking great

Out of those listed I intend to get:
Black Book (Sony)
Gods and Generals (Warner) - Will buy HD DVD version for TrueHD
Master & Commander (Fox) - Must have title
28 Weeks Later (Fox)
2001: A Space Odyssey (Warner) - Will buy HD DVD version for TrueHD
The Company (2007) (Sony) - I think this is likely to be brilliant
Eyes Wide Shut (Warner) - Considering UK version
The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007) (Fox)
Battle of Britain (MGM) - Must have title
A Bridge Too Far (MGM) - Must have title
Monty Python's Life of Brian (Sony)
I, Robot (Fox)
Ocean's Thirteen (Warner) - Will buy HD DVD version for TrueHD
Live Free or Die Hard (Fox)
Blade Runner (Complete Collector's Edition) (Warner) - Will buy HD DVD version for TrueHD

All in all then I am very happy with that lineup. A couple of issues I am pondering though:

Eyes Wide Shut - is the US version of this film cut/censored? I heard talk of forced 'blurring' on the US variant? I am wondering whether I would be better buying the UK HD DVD release?

28 Days Later - was this shot in high def? I heard it was shot in PAL and therefore wondering if this is just an upscale? If so I think my Arcam can stick with the DVD.

The Tudors - was this announced for BluRay/HD DVD release later this year? But it's not currently listed? Has no date been announced?

I think it's been confirmed that the US BD/HD-DVD release will contain both versions - i'll try and find a link.

28 days later was the worst picture I have ever seen on DVD (shot on video i think). I cannot see how this will work in HD

It was shot on SD PAL Digital Video Cameras.

So we have something shot at 50hz running in a format at 60hz.

High def will be able to clean it up a little, and I'm sure FOX's upscalers are better than any of us have, but I won't be expecting anything special.

There is some great stuff here- I will be ver poor.

Just a pity I wont be buying Die Hard 4.0 now!

Or enough money in me pocket in my case.......

Can i ask what the PCM and bitrate playback from the PS3 to your 5200es is like, have you done many comparisons ?? i would quite like a 5200 instead of my 1200es....

to be honest ive not compared them as i always have it on PCM,but it does sound awsome:)
why dont you go for the 3200 as the only difference is the upscaling(which is not that good t be honest.
or wait for the 3300 which is due early oct:smashin:

OOooo a 3300...... i'll look that up..... Thanks :smashin:

EDIT> Hmmm - there are 3300es's on ebay with HDMI 1.2 ?? but looking elsewhere both that and the 5300 sound great.... it's more wait and see time - i hate that...... Blu-ray 1.1 with analogue outs or a ?300es.... what will come first ???

Thanks Again....... deano

Updated the master list with the five Harry Potter movies.

Still waiting for a release date for Sunshine.

Looks like it's all BD's for me this Christmas. I have sympathy with others, it's an absolute tidlewave of titles.

Sin City and Kill Bill are still possibilities.
