blu ray on linux

    hi i have read that by running linux you can play pal dvds
    what about bluray does this also work with region coded blu ray too as i have a jap machine

    i believe you need player software (to even play them never mind play a different region) and at present they need a decryption key that is licenced from the bluray group so i doubt we will see a linux player any time soon, the discs have 3 layers of encryption/protection aswell

    having a jap machine is the same region as the US so you can get discs from there aor somewhere like www.movietyme.com, the uk bluray prices are too expesive to concoder at this point in my opinion anyway
