Can anyone help me please with a connection problem.
I Have a Sony Compact AV System (DVD PLAYER AND CINEMA SOUND SYSTEM MODEL DAV-C770) which is about 4 years old and is excellent. I have this connected to and HD TV and all works ok. I have just purchased a Sony Blu-ray player (Model BDP-S300) and connected this to the TV via HDMI. Again this works all fine.
I wish to connect the Blu-ray player to the DAV-C770 in order to obtain 5.1 sound through the cinema system but I cannot achieve this. I have tried all permutations including Optical Digital but the best I have managed is that sound is heard from all speakers including Sub-woofer but no sound comes from centre speaker which carries voices (so all speech is silent!!) I am sure I am doing something wrong but can anyone please help.

What BluRay DVD are you using? If it's spiderman 2 or 3 that may be your problem the audio settings are a bit flaky on these dvd's ,might be an idea to try a different dvd even a std one should give you DD.
The dvd may be set to output true DD as standard.
I had a look through the manual but nothing jumps out.
