This is an alphabetical list of DVD player hacks.
If you can't find your player in this list, please search this forum before asking. Many of the hacks below work on other models, i.e a hack for one model of Sony player works on others. So please try the hacks listed for a model similar to yours before asking for a new hack!

If you know of a hack not in the list, please post a new thread with the make and model of the player and hack instructions and we will then add your contribution to the list.

Please DO NOT post duplicate threads requesting info for models already covered in this sticky thread!

If you have any feedback - good or bad using any hack, please reply to the thread to help others in the same situation.
    Thanks.

None of these models can be modified via codes entered with the units own handset. Depending on the model you own, the modification is done via either a special device which plugs into the units rear "compulink" socket, a firmware disc, or a firmware disc and special factory remote. These can be obtained from modification companies (google search / forum banner / etc), some specialist JVC retailers, or bought pre-modded new from AV retailers whom offer JVC units modified as new. You cannot replicate the modification yourself, unlike with some Sony and Panasonic models.

None of these can be modified via codes entered with its own remote. They require a factory service remote, available from modification companies or bought pre-modded new from a specialist AV retailer. You can also do this yourself, if you have a Pronto device, OFA, PDA, or laptop with IR. Earlier Sony models (pre-2001, such as the DVP-Sx15 / x25 / x35/6 and S7700) can ONLY be modified via a hardware chip mod.

Blu-Ray models such as the BDP-S350, BDP-S550 and BDP-S5000ES require extensive hardware modifications if you want to make them Blu-Ray A & B switchable, but can be modified for DVD Multiregion via the usual Sony DVD player hack.
