I was adjusting my car amp and switched off the 'Sub' switch by accident and it popped a 'C9013' transistor.

I don't have a C9013 to hand but do have a bunch of other transistors that came in those lucky dip bags from Maplin Electronics.

Can anyone tell me an alternative transistor that would be compatible please?

I would guess that it's a relatively general purpose 2SC9013 (npn transistor). . 9013 Datasheet pdf - NPN SILICON TRANSISTOR - Wing Shing Computer Components for some more info.
Depending on the application, lots of more common western devices could replace this.
Google "2SC9013 equivalent" to see posts in other forums with practical suggestions like the pretty common 2N2222.
