Every so often I'm spotting blocky horizontal digital lines appearing on recordings made with a Philips 880 from an RGB signal, and similar horizontal lines of shadow on recordings from a PAL signal.

Has anyone else experienced this, and is it to be expected?

The best I can figure is that this might be the equivalent to the old "noise bars" that occasionally appear on video tapes, especially old, worn ones.

Could the Datawrite disks I'm using be causing the problem?

Even if you've not experienced this situation I'd be keen to hear that, as it would at least then let me know that it's not to be expected and there's some fault or problem specific to my setup.

    Cheers,

    Desk
