As Ive gone for AOTC Lex must of gone for TTT's. I really believe AOTC will have the edge this year. From what Ive seen of the trailer and read a review which raved about it, it seems like it will be far superior to TPM. Not that im taking any thing for granted or falling for the hype already. I hope all this years movies will be good even if Blade II was disappointing. If I had to pick one that looked a bit iffy it would be Spider Man, do you remember the series where Spider man shimmed up the side of that building, how false did that look? Replace Spider man with CG and guess what, he dont look any more convincing now. This film will go the same way as The X-Men, a very short life span and no place in my DVD collection.

I went for AOTC too. I generally hated Lord of The Rings, im more excited about gettting old and incontinent! I am looking forward to star trek, I have always loved star trek, even though insurrection was horribly bad, so I look forward to it too. My feelings about spiderman are as Badass says......Bond could be good i guess!

Another reason I'm looking forward to AOTC is the fact that it will be totally different to TFM, different charractors, story, etc. But TTT will be so similar to FOTR, allmost identicle in every way, just presented different. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah you are wrong BadAss! :D

I think you are missing the point that TTT is a continuation of a story, not a sequal. So of course it is going to be similar to what went before it.

I really hope AOTC is going to be good - I still have my doubts though!

For me the difference between LOTR & Star Wars is that I see SW as more of a kids movie, whereas LOTR is something more adults will enjoy.

Star Trek for me, though I'll go and see:

Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
    Men In Black II
James Bond 20 - Die Another Day
    Star Trek Nemesis

I'll catch Lord of the Rings II, Potter & Scooby on DVD.

    Spider-man first and foremost.

Second is... wait, you don't even have it on your list... do you actually research these things properly when you slap them onto threads? Where, for heaven's sake, is xXx? Starring Vin Diesel, it's gonna kick total ass.

Ooooooooh! No need to be rude! I could only fit a maximum of ten films on the list, thus no room for your film, plus I am not really sure that xxx qualifies as a blockbuster.

You'll see... and there was no rudeness. It was simple bewildered disbelief.

It's more blockbuster material than 'The Sum Of All Fears', 'Scooby Doo' (kid's film). It's equally a blockbuster as the next Bond flick, or the next Star Trek, or even 'Minority Report'. Check out the trailer, this is going to be the sleeper hit of the year. It'll be better than Bond anyway.

P.S. If we get literal about these things, then not many of those movies above 'qualify' as blockbusters at all. As most cinemas are now giant multi-plex monstrosities, there's not really much chance of there being any kind of busting of blocks as there was for the original Star Wars.

You could be right pointon. I am not really sure what qualifies a film as a blockbuster - my thought would be that it is more to do with the marketing of the film, ie the studio tries to sell it as a blockbuster.
Criteria may be: Big star name, huge budget, summer release, massive marketing campaign = huge anticipation, and it usually has the number 2 or 3 after the title!! :D

MiB II for me with Minority Report a close 2nd. May watch TTT, too, but FOTR wasn't that "epic", IMHO, so it's rather out of interest and not because I am now a big LOTR fan.
Want to see Spiderman and some others as well ...

The Sum of all Fears - what's that, never heard about it!?

Sum of all Fears is the latest film that shares a title with a Tom Clancy novel, but in reality is utter dross and shares only tenuous plot details with the original.

IMHO only Hunt for Red October made a succesful transition from paper to celluloid.

I mean, Ben Affleck as CIA agent. c'mon.

Interesting that everybody who has posted a reply says they are not interested in, or do not like, LOTR and yet it is winning in the poll?

I think you guys are publicly saying that you don't like it, but secretly you are all closet Hobbit fans!! ;) :p :D

Not just Ben Affleck as a CIA agent, if only it were that innocent, but this is Jack Ryan he'll be playing. The very same Jack Ryan from 'The Hunt For Red October', 'Patriot Games' and 'Clear And Present Danger'. The very same Jack Ryan character Affleck has now stolen from Harrison Ford, who stole it from Alec Baldwin in the first place!

And now Clany is writing a load of 'Young Jack Ryan' (chronicles) adventures just for Affleck.

    He better be good.

Oh, that Jack Ryan! Well, HFRO wasn't that good, IMHO, just average. Did like PG and CAPD though ...

TNG Nemesis looking forward to, hopefully a return to First Contact's greatness. MIB was cr@p, albeit a joke or two and Rip Torn, so I'd expect more over-rated hype for 2 also. South Park coined Afflek as Ben @rseflick which sums that up nicely. Star Wars muck ups, casting from hell. Grrr. Cup of tea and smoooke time:cool:

Agree with Confuius. 'MIB' was the best traditional 'blockbuster' of the year it came out, mixing comedy and sharp wit with action and some fine perfomances. The closest to a modern day 'Ghostbusters' yet. Looking forward to the sequel.

I loved MIB when it came out, and I agree with the previous statements. However, I would say that I have gottten bored of it now. I tried watching it last week but just couldn't sit through it.
Ghostbusters, however, is a film I can never grow bored of - pure genius!! :)

Just love the bit in Ghost Busters when theyre all standing in the lift and one of them turns on anothers Proton Pack. For any one who hasnt got this DVD/LD, you can realy empythise with these guys as the bass line kicks in. Trust me it will bring a smile to your face every time. Unless you aint got a Sub Woofer then youll probably wonder why theyre all backing away with a rather disturbed look on their faces.
