Can anybody pin down the influences here? Debate going on amongst three of us as to whether it's the Cure or Stranglers that 'Miss you' is nodding towards.................. Any thoughts?

For instance, whenever we debate how bad the White Stripes are, we can never reach a unanimous descision. I say terrible, you say horrendous, it's like chalk and cheese.

Have no prob's with the likes of Confucious and Squiffy who wear their political colours on their sleeves, just the former Tories who voted for the "winners" the last couple of times and then bitch when Blair didn't work bloody miracles. People constantly spouting Daily Mail soundbites ('Bliar', 'spin', 'stealth taxes') doesn't encourage good debate.


Gambit, i love the white stripes, and even more so the strokes. I don't really find them both utterly tedious, brain dead, and tuneless, nor do i switch over as soon as their dron......... er, singing starts. I was just joking.

As you know I like The Stripes (not my most bestest band, but I still like them). The Strokes Im in two minds about, did they nick Televisions sound or did they just nick Televisions sound (didnt nick their instrumental skill).

??? I don't like Televisions vocal much, but musicaly they're streets ahead of the "rocket polishers". To me the Strokes sound more like a crap version of VU!
