having been not able to afford a real screen i opted for a blackout blind.the first i bought was 120 cm width and i thought it would be ok for my viewing area...i was wrong..it was too small and also the screen was a very pale cream. i have a chance of a 180cm width screen which is white, will this make any diffence to the quality of the picture compared with the darker cream version?

Do a search for Ikea blackout blind. You will find lots of people use these for screens and a 2m wide one only costs £20. I used to use one and the picture was good.

You can get proper screen material from drhscreen.co.uk. I bought one at 180cm wide and it cost me £60 including delivery.
