Yup, I saw that on Play a few weeks ago and was thinking about getting it but I already have Monsters Inc. What concerns me most is if A Bugs Life is the dual layer or flipper.

    Does anyone out there know?

Also, is it a digipack, are all the disks in one case (like the later R4 release of BTTF) or are they all 4 of the normal single disk versions in a cardborad sleeve?

the bugs life special edition isn't a flipper like the original release so I think this one should be dual layered too. I'd get it as well but I already have monster's inc.
I think I'll get the toy story box set instead.

    HI,

The R2 "Pixar" box set, only contains the single-disc editions of each of the films, with minimal extras. As such, it's not really worth it!

Depends if you are interested in the extras or not, is there anything extra special with the none box set editions? Personally aside from Directors commentaries I have 'a take it or leave it' attitude to the making of documentaries. Since I don't have any of these films on DVD yet and a small daughter who is just starting to be interested in the big silver oblong that mummy and daddy stare at all the time this may be yet another Xmas present for her!

    Cheers

    Ross,

    I agree.

However, Monsters Inc 2-disk has some great extras for the kids if they like that sort of thing. Can't remember about the others off the top of my head but they all contain short films that are great fun for everyone :D

I picked up Toy Story 1 & 2 boxset (R1), Monsters Inc 2-disk (R1) and A Bug's Life (non-flipper R4) for £41 total over the past few months. Not bad, compared to the price of the boxset.

I'd definitely check out how much you can buy them for individually - shop around. I'm sure your kids would love opening 3 presents instead of 1 :)

Also probably the biggest reason I won't be buying it is because the version of Monsters Inc that comes in the box set is the standard 4:3 version and not the widescreen one.

With two films in the set being 4:3 it looks like I have made a duff purchase then which is a pitty as it was Bugs Life which drew me to this boxset in the first place.

    LOL @ HMV.

They've been emailing me their Christmas offers every few days. The prices on their "offers" have been laughable. But then we all know what their pricing is like :D

Got my Toy Story 1 & 2 R1 box set from Play for £17.99 a while ago. In fact, was one of the first 50 DVDs I owned, if I remember correctly. Thnk the price has gone up a bit now.
