Play have the R1 Version of Blade 2 listed as having a DTS track and available for pre-order at 14.99, out 30-8-02.

    Did'nt I just say that?
My other query was about Blade not Blade 2 when I was reffering to a newer DTS version.

I think Jase was saying Blade 2 is in DTS, whereas you asked about Blade 1 in DTS.
    Hence the confusion.

Just watched Blade 2 last night on my 92" AE-100 PJ.

Not a bad film, very "Alien" in feel

    Fight scenes the best!

I love tight black leather "catsuits":D

Maybe watching the first big 'ninja' fight scene in DTS will detract attention from the most laughably lazy 5 minutes of CGI I've yet seen?

Errr does the R1 Blade 2 available for pre-order have DD as well? I know some R1 discs have one or the other, but a disc with just DTS is no good to me, should have checked really as I've already preordered it from there.

The big question is (although I've not seen anything stating that it definitely is EX / ES compatible) I was under the impression that any film released in DD EX at the cinema was also the same on DVD... so, will Blade 2 allow 6.1 decoding on DVD?

It should be DD-EX at least, even if the packaging does not say so. I am not sure if DTS tracks are transferred straight from the film track to DVD as DD is supposed to be. As it is a Newline release I would image both soundtracks will be EX and ES as Rush Hour 2 was. The Fellowship of the Ring is listed as having both soundtracks in EX and ES also.

I think you're right KevB. I was thinking it will be like Rush Hour 2 and Pitch Black were... direct ports of the EX and ES sound to DVD. I guess this also means the 'We Were Soldiers' disc will follow suit, with EX at least.

I think so it's listed on the Dolby site as a dvd with EX sound. I haven't seen the film but it's one I want to see on DVD. I have heard good and bad things about it.

I am a major fan of DD-EX and would imagine this film will sound amazing. :D

Hi Juboy, if you're talking about the part when the two "ninjas" were up on the ceiling of Blade's hideaway, that in fact wasn't CGI. I believe they used puppets for that sequence.

"I believe they used puppets for that sequence."

What, in it or to do the CGI?

It was utterly dire. Even Yoda's recent rumble looked more convincing.

You can get Blade DTS R2 from www.cdjapan.com, it works out as £31 or there abouts.
