I want a tablet for my daughters(5 & 3) for games and keeping them quiet on the plane and while we are out. I may want to put films on but not essential. The PB has limited apps and im not sure about sideloading. Its reviews seemed very mixed. PB 64gb is £129 at PC World and Kindle fire HD 16gb is £129 at CPW. Which is best as this is my budget.

Deffo go for the kindle fire hd. There is virtually no apps in the blackberry App Store. It's truly shocking it is, play safe and get the kindle fire HD as your kids won't be disappointed.

Thank you for your input. It will also be used for surfing at home. Is the BB that bad.The 64gb seemed appealing. Does it not have any uses?

It's good for surfing the web and watching media content. I hook mines to the TV via mini hdmi cable and watch YouTube videos and other flash sites etc.

But for kids the lack of apps is a major issue, they'll soon be bored to death with the lack of games or activity based apps (painting/jigsaws etc).

With the Kindle you have Android apps and they have plenty of apps that IOS have, so it's a safe bet going for the kindle fire. Also the screen resolution is better too.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Sorry to bombard you with questions but is the BB better for email? With the current CPW price of £129 would you say this is the best tablet available for the price?

the email client in the BB isn't great, honestly just get the kindle HD and you won't be disappointed.

The cheapest tablet is this but haven't read any reviews for it: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=290849730424

My advice is get one. Best display of any 7" tablet by far. Good Battery life, good sound, USB in/out and HDMI out. Amazon app store is more comprehensive than is usually said. Whatever Google play app store can be easily accessed if you have/ create Google account.
