There is a way... but it's quite limited.

Many services like email, BBM and many third-party applications wont work without BIS (BlackBerry Internet Services), this has always been the case for BlackBerry as BIS provides the foundation of the security and data efficiency of BlackBerry. But some will work if you manually enter APN details for your network operator.

Read this: KB05327-How to set the APN settings on the BlackBerry smartphone

Then spend some time on Google finding TalkMobile APN information and enter it as described above. You may also need to change the settings of some applications to reflect the fact you're not using BIS, but that will be per-application so it's hard to advise.

Honestly though, speaking to TalkMobile to see if they offer BIS instead of standard data would be wise. Or finding an alternative provider.

If it helps, I've managed to do this successfully with a Vodafone SIM in a BlackBerry that did not have BB services enabled.

If you do have BB services enabled, you can also enter the APN to access the Internet via Opera Mini without going through the BB service. This is useful for corporate devices where Internet access to personal email is prevented.
