Black & White

When i hook my Yamada 6600 up to my tv's Av2 socket the picture is black and white, when i use Av1 its in colour.

The Av2 socket is not RGB, but it says S-video on the screen.

What could be causing the black and white picture?

Has your Yamada different settings for the ouput ?. I believe the default is RGB, but you might be able to go to a different mode, like just a switch in the back of your player.

I'm pretty sure that the disc your playing is NTSC or Region 1. If that is the case then it will need an RGB enabled scart socket to allow it to play in colour. If you play it in the other scart socket it will only be in black and white as you have reported. Theres nothing you can do about the DVD player, its your tellys problem. Back in the old Playstation 1 days, they used to sell a NTSC to PAL converter as this happened alot with import games. Hope this explains.
