I'am trying to connect my Tosh 32ZD09B & Pioneer Dv05 ElIte dvd player via conponent but only get Black & White picture ? ? WHY

The back of the player has component output which reads :
    Green / Y
    Blue / CB
    Red / CR

The back of the tv has component in which reads :
    Green / Y
    Blue / PA/CA
    Red / PR/CR

Will it not work as the letters do not match ? ? , also that the dvd player is a usa player with the sudo pal mod .

    So please any help

    :(

Two possible solutions/problems. Either the player sends only Y/C or the tv inputs are in Y/C mode. Check from player's menu that component output is activated and in proper mode, progressive/intelaced. Also check from TV's settings the mode of inputs.

Never heard Pa/Ca, normally YUV (component) is YCrCb or YPrPb ...

Try swapping the leads around, can't damage anything I guess.
BTW: what disc are you playing? R1/NTSC I assume ... ?

    Thanks for the reply's

I have tryed to change settings in players menu with the following options :

    RGB
    Video
    S-Video

I have had the colours red & green , but not correct also when I connected my mates Tosh SD220 dvd player it worked fine ,
As my player is an ntsc machine with the above connections on the back of the player , I'am thinking it will on put out the above
signals even when it has component output on the back ? ?
