Black & White Licence will go in 3 years

    Apparently, if you have a black & white TV connected to a digibox, you still need a colour licence. This is because it's the digibox and not the TV that is considered to be the receiver, and all digiboxes receive in colour.

    When analogue TV is phased out (starting in 3 years time) it will mean the effective ending of black & white TV licences in the UK.

    Who still has a black and white telly? I guess a very few poor sods who will have to buy a freeview box or a freesat system and a colour tellyand fork out £80 extra for a colour licence.

    I suggest there will be 17 of them ;)

    They will also be phasing out the telegram in favour of a new contraption to be known as the tellyfone - named after it's inventor Alexander Graham Tellyfone.

    Seeing as the blind only get a £10 discount off TV licencing fees its worth while for them to get B&W TVs (or a radio)
