    hi Giz

would you share H.-and V.freq. and timings with the crystallio over vga
right now my phd 8 is not judderfree @ exactly 50,00 Hz

I was forced to set it@50,04 - still one tiny studder with bloomberg tickers every 2 minutes .

The silver bezel is a bit distracting......I have both but really can't imagine that a black screen would look good on a silver stand

my pa 20 stand (the round one) is dark silver -and the middle section has exactly the same colour as the phd 8 bezel , not so bad.

I am giving the Panny 50.16Hz this produces a dropped frame occasionally, and by that I mean I notice it once every few days at most. And not sure if this may be the broadcasting, as I was watching a review of the Audi A8 on the Audi channel and it did it a few times, so could be broadcasting errors and not the panel.

I just used the inbuilt timings for the 50PHD6 that were in the Crystalio as a preset, however for the HD6 I just used the standard vesa timgs for whatever resolution and adjusted the V refresh.

Oh, and the panel says 50.1 under the signal menu. Now I know the Faroudja chipset is out slightly and I think the Panny is out by .05 too, so try 50.05 and then time how long between the dropped frames, then try 50.06 and see if it is getting longer or shorter, keep doing this till it is spot on.

    Confused, me too.

The bezel could not be blacker on my 506, and the ped could be classed as matt silver.

Dont know where you are getting charcoal from?

    Are you having a bbq?

What i am saying is that the Panny is charcoal.

The Pio's are very black, nice and sleek and quite different to the charcoal of the panny, i like the way the sleek black goes with the silver on the pio's though

Yes mate the Pioneer looks good.
The Panasonic is charcoal and should look good also.

My point was if anyone fancies this combination, pop into any store and look at the Pioneer, it will give anyone the general idea.

yeah , its between 50.04 and 50.05 and almost no framedrops for half an hour,
pans are smooth as silk and with 1:1 pixelm.@1024x768 it seems I can live with vga .
    :) :)
resolution with the nVidiacard is almost linear up to 5,8 MHz ! , some minor irregularities appear beyond 6 MHz.

what strikes me really is the quality of the PHD 8 deinterlacer , will have a look for a 576i player for additional tests.

made a break-in dvd without menu and a replay function ..so there are 68 h on the panel a.t.m.

    I think I wlll try to calibrate it @ 100h .

like it very much the new PHD 8 - 50MBit footage from a DVCpro professional camcorder never looked better

    regards from the black forest
