Black List app

Hi all,
I thought if you purchased an app through the app store it would be tested and vetted by Apple. If this is the case why does the Black List app not work at all.
It does not block calls or texts. So many reviews of it warn people not to buy it as it doesn't work at all but it has 4.5 stars and most of these reviews in the positive seem not to be very true.
Can I get my £ back like many people have asked for with this app and how do I get Apple aware of this issue?

Cheers

Does the app do something, eg contacts you block are added to the phone book? Think some call "blocking" apps simply add the bad numbers to your phone book and set a silent ringtone for them (you would have to sync the silent ringtone manually too)

My guess is that the developer submitted the app with a true description (eg adds people to your phone book), was accepted, but then changed it to make some pretty impossible claims like saying it can reject calls.

Apple does not check changes to the description.

However you can complain if you look at your list of purchases in iTunes and then click on the report a problem button next to the purchase. You'll probably get refunded too.

It's just so annoying that people are making money by falsely claiming their app does something when it clearly does NOTHING.

I may speak to trading standards about this as this developer is making money when they should not be!!!!!
I have contacted the developer but guess what no response!!!!

The developer is in Russia so I doubt trading standards will be interested.

Have you contacted Apple iTunes support yet?

No I have not but will do do in the morning.
It's only 69 pence but it's the principle. Apple should really monitor what's going on in their app store.

I'm wondering whether that particular app has got something region specific. Looking at the screenshots it is on the AT&T network. That could explain why some really like it and others don't. And why it slipped through the net.

But if you don't tell Apple they wouldn't know, do that first. They've given me my money back x 3 previously.
