    Hi!

I recieved my Panasonic PT-AE100 yesterday. After having set it up and tried various formats I noticed that it has a 10 cm high black bar in the bottom of the picture. This bar is constant independent of the format I use. I have tried with 4:3, 16:9 (1.78:1,1.85:1,2.35:1). When I use the Freeze function it displays the name freeze in the black bar. Has anyone experienced this? Can it be fixed in the menus or do I have to get it repaired? Everything else looks great. No dead pixels.

    /Benny

Can you test with another dvd player?
It could be the player, but it's probably a faulty AE100.

Jeez, i've got this problem too. :( It does it on all inputs and sources. Someone please tell me that it can be cured by a setting in the menus.

All of a sudden the black bar is gone! :D

I connected my DVD through my amp and then it worked. Now it also works when I connect my DVD or VCR direct.
    Can anyone explain this?

    Anyway. I'm happy it's gone.

Can you recreate the problem by connecting it back as before?
