Hi all, as a temp measure until funds allow for me to get a modded xbox, im trying to use svideo on my projector

i have it set up at the moment

xbox connected to an argos 3 way scart adapter using microsoft scart cable, then the argos box is going to the projector using a scart to svideo cable, but alas piccy is black and white

i want to do it this way as i want to use the optical out on the xbox scart as the abox is in the middle of my room and the amp is 3m one way and the pj is 3m the other way,

    what am i doing wrong????

    many thanks
    Jason

I'm not the "how to connect it all up" expert, but I reckon somewhere in that chain is a scart connector which won't pass Svideo............... hence no colour in the picture. Try to simplify the chain by removing something (possibly the 3 way adaptor), and see if that helps the situation.

Are you sure that the microsoft scart cable is S-Video capable? My understanding it's RGB and composite.

You might be better off with the joytech cable.

Though you might need to get a longer optical lead (oh, and don't plug the Scart lead, and s-video lead in simultaneously - as it dims the brightness of the screen in my experience - though if the scart went into your switchbox and you selected another input you'd be ok).
